Back when Dr. Baxter was here things were a bit different, but now the wait times are a bit long. Be prepared to wait 45mins-1hr even if you schedule a 9am appt. Also the parking is very limited and not very accessible for people with disabilities.

I had been trying to get the proper care for months, and other doctors hadn't helped. The staff here was incredible, and Dr. Rathnayake was wonderful! He not only knew exactly how to help, but fixed me up on the spot! I not only left with a treatment plan, but I'm in the road to recovery and so appreciative. Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable!

Dr. R took ample time today to explain what I can do to better take care of myself. He answered a multitude of questions very respectfully and with his expertise. Also, it’s very easy to book appointments with the staff. I’ve never had to wait long for an appointment or at the office.

Check in process was not efficient and felt rushed. I did appreciate the appointment itself. The point was to get to the foot of the problem (see what I did there?) address it and establish a plan.

Dr. Rathnayake is great! He is thorough: he gets X-ray, ask you questions about your symptoms, does an examination then tells you the treatment to get you on the road to recovery. He asks you to schedule a follow up to check if your symptoms got better, if they did not, then he proceeds with different treatment. His nurses and receptionists are nice and friendly! I'm a DAV seeing and have seen numerous Doctors and Specialists, for various reasons. I'm totally impressed by Dr Viraj', within 5 minutes he accurately told me my LLD without xrays, just by his proper hand placement. It took the VA 15yrs to figure out. That's KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE! The office staff is VERY friendly and the wait time has been less than 30 minutes every visit. He drained a cyst on the top of foot, I yelled like a baby but it didn't hurt, lmao! I referred a friend! Awesome Dr with good chairside manner!

I have seen numerous podiatrists for various issues with my feet since 1991. I've had multiple surgeries and procedures done, including a doctor who operated on the wrong areas of both my feet. I started seeing Dr. Baxter in 2008 for cuboid bone pain due to a syndrome I have. Since then, he has performed dual bunionectomies with complications. I honestly believe that had it not been him who operated, my outcome would have been dim. He has also dealt with nerve issues from previous surgeries and issues I've encountered. He is the ONLY doctor I trust with my feet. His staff is top notch, from reception to billing, they are nothing but professional and courteous. I highly recommend South Texas Foot Specialist, Dr. Baxter and his team.

Amazing doctor and staff! Took care of my daughters problem while being amazingly kind to her. My only complaint is they seem to have a fragrant burner on and it makes us all nauseous. The scent is so strong we sit in the waiting room with head aches, feeling sick to our stomachs. :(

Dr Rathnayake was knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. The foot x-rays here are similar to the ones I experienced in and orthopedic surgeon’s office in Columbia, MO. I wasted my time five days ago going to my primary care physician’s office where they told me I needed an X-ray and a referral to a podiatrist. It turns out a nerve in the top of my foot needed an injection-I did not have a hairline fracture. Dr R’s exam pinpointed the problem and I feel I am on my way to recovery. Thank you, Dr Rathnayake!

Great doctor and staff. They always have time for your questions. They are never to busy to take time for every patient. Highly recommend! All staff was very professional, friendly and patient regarding my urgency to see a doctor. They were able to book me for a same day appointment and had the pleasure of meeting Dr Viraj Rathnayake. He was able to remove my toenail very efficiently after a fall I had. After 1-2 weeks of recuperation, I returned for a very quick follow-up and everything has healed very nicely. I am so thankful for having this positive experience and will continue to recommend this clinic to loved ones!
