Was able to get an appointment easily after appointments were canceled due to the weather. Dr Ahmed looked over the MRI and spent enough time explaining what it showed advising what he could do for the pain; but also advised me to see my doctor for his opinion if surgery was the best option. Dr Ahmed has given me my life back. He and his staff are an answer to my prayers over the last two years. I have suffered with migraines for a little over two years and was referred to Dr Ahmed by my neurologist. After having a temporal biopsy, I woke up from that surgery with a headache that never left along with my eyes being light sensitive. Over the last two years I have been given many medications that never worked and then found relief with ketamine infusions only lasting for two weeks. My first visit with Dr Ahmed he said we will find the solution and not a bandaid, which he did. After discovering the pain was from my nerves, Dr Ahmed performed a procedure burning my nerves and injection at the temporal site. Grateful doesn’t even describe my gratitude. Not only is my headache nonexistent but my eyes are also improving. My family and I are eternally grateful for Dr Ahmed and his staff. Thank you, Dr Ahmed!!!

What ilike about doctor ahmed is that he sits with you and explains what's wrong with you and what he's going to do to make you feel better he's a good doctor

My appointment was obtained quickly (within 24 hours). I am pleased afterwards because my problems were addressed and a treatment plan was made. I was included in that plan and I feel relieved that my issues were addressed. Very professional staff as well.

In 2016 near fall I began having severe head pain debilitating lasting 24/7 it was Dr Moustafa and Dr Rashid that found I had a fast growing tumor in an inoperable area in my brain. I was sent to md Anderson thinking it’s cancer but it turned out to be a tumor growth reaction to taking otezla that year. Md Anderson put me in pain meds for relief while the gave me meds via portal for several months. June 2023 no tumor at all left. The nerves in my brain were crushed and I’m still in pain. So I’m coming back to dr ahmed for pain relief. He literally saved my life the tumor would have killed me xmas of 2016.

Dr Moustafa is an awesome Dr. His concern for his patients is awesome. He doesn't seem to make a difference. He cares for all his patients. The staff is friendly. I only wish the financing was a little more better. I know they may think you're not going to pay your bill, but sometimes it's very important that you're there. And rescheduling may not be an option. Other than that they are awesome. I truly believe that there has been a time when someone couldn't pay all the money. But the problem got solved. Working in the Medical field I believe caring is important. Thank you for all you do ????

Dr Ahmed is sooo fantastic!!! I’ve had excellent results from the procedures he’s done to my back, hips and knee!!! I could barely walk when I first came to him. He’s got my pain level down so I’m able to do more!!! He’s so nice and his staff is so sweet!!! ?? I highly recommend him! He’s the best!

Dr. Ahmed is a brilliant pain management Doctor. He is by far the best Pain Management Doctor I have ever seen. My genetic spine issues have caused severe pain for more than 25 years. I am currently PAIN FREE because of Dr. Ahmed's professionalism. His knowledge of proven modern treatment options and his expert ability to perform these treatments put him at the top of the charts in my book. Dr. Ahmed truly cares about his patients, spending the time needed to properly care for them. The wait time at Dr. Ahmed's office can be longer than normal but it is WORTH THE WAIT. The Nurse Practitioner in the office is awesome, always taking the time to listen to you and respond to all your concerns. The staff in the office has always been courteous and professional. Communication about expected cost for procedures and office visits were always clear and understandable. Every other Doctor I had been to for over 15 years always wanted to mask the symptoms and the pain with medications. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR MOUSTAFA AHMED.

I would like to revise my previous posting that was inappropriate due to an error made in our appt time. We had thought our appt was @ 1PM but in reality our appt was @ 2:45 PM. Our extended wait was our fault and not the staff or Dr Ahmed. Our follow up visit was on time and Dr Ahmed accepted our apology and spent adequate time explaining medical issues to our full satisfaction.

Update 12/9/24: I've had great success for pain management since I met Dr. Ahmed. I had constant headaches and almost daily stabbing pains above one eye, and under one shoulder blade, and I dropped things because of sudden sharp pains in my wrist after a car accident in 2017. I also had low back pain and shooting pains around my hips or across my knees. Other doctors prescribed pain medication but they did not help enough to really function like myself. I met Dr. Ahmed in late 2018 and after tests and meeting insurance guidelines, Dr. Ahmed was able to treat the exact cause. Today, I finished an office visit with Dr. Ahmed and am waiting to schedule my third RFA treatments for my neck and low back. My first RFA treatments were in 2020, the second treatments were in 2022, and my third will hopefully be in 2024. Each time Dr . Ahmed has done the RFA procedures, the pain in my neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and above my eye caused by the auto accident, as well as the pain in my back hips and knees stops. I no longer have to take pain and migraine medicine. I only have discomfort if I actually hurt my elbow, knee etc. because the issues caused by my spine are no longer the cause. Dr. Ahmed still takes time to study my overall health and makes sure I have no other concerns before he schedules my procedure. He addresses the source of the problem. Original post: I have been seeing Dr. Mustafa Ahmed since I moved to Houston in 2018. I highly recommend him for pain management. The first thing that impressed me when I met Dr. Ahmed was that he had read all of my medical history and notes from fellow physicians taking an interest in my well being as a whole. He knew that I had taken a variety of pain medications and nerve blockers as well as completed different types of physical therapy, so when he started my exam, it was with the mindset that I had completed all that was recommended in the past and needed something different. Struggling with chronic pain is an experience in itself. If you are reading these reviews you yourself are probably looking for a pain management specialist to help you better manage your pain and get back to a more consistent and independent life. Dr. Ahmed is incredibly personable and takes the time to talk to you as the patient. I am working towards getting an intrathecal pain pump. At first I was quite hesitant to the idea. However, did my research and agreed to do a trial. After the trial I felt years younger and have agreed to have the device placed in my body. I am very excited about the new possibilities in life going forward that at one point I thought were not attainable anymore. If you are seeking a pain management doctor I would highly recommend Dr. Ahmed. He also has a great a VERY response staff assisting him.

Everything went well. The staff was patient with me. The doctor came in and explained everything to me. There was a representative for the pain management company in and also explained how everything would work. I’m looking forward to being pain free or at least being 70% percent better.

I saw Dr Ahmad yester after i had a severe pain in my back, I felt locked in the same position couldn't stand or bend. My husband called his office and he was able to see me the same day. A friend came and picked me up from home and drove me there, I couldn't walk so she took me in wheelchair. The doctor saw me promptly after I arrived. He was very nice and understanding, I was crying with each movement. He did a very thorough exam but at the same time taking in consideration my pain. He gave me an injection at the office and waited until I started to feel better. His assistant sent my prescription to the pharmacy downstairs I think called deliveret. I was able to walk to the car and my friend drove me back home. Few hours later my prescription was at my door. today I am able to walk almost upright. Thank you Dr Ahmad and the whole team.

Dr Moustafa is very attentive.he shows. Concern for your issues, takes the time to refer you to other specialist and he also let you know when he is not happy with you.he takes time as long as it takes and not like the doctors where I came from .if you lucky you get 3 minutes and like on an assembly line,work as many patients in as you can .this is why I'm staying. Dr Moustafa staff is so great to be around..all the techs and practitioners are great.we always have a. Good time at this office I come with my friend Linda.she loves to see the doc.she will be depressed going in and walk out with stomach ache from laughing. The doctor is good, as well as the doctor's assistant, however, the overall staff doesn't seem to organized. Twice they have forgotten me in the waiting room. I do reccomend the doctor!

After having horrible back pain and radiating leg for years, I got an epidural steriod injection in my spine. It took 2 weeks to work and I had no pain for 8 months. My case is quite severe in my opinion. When I'm in pain it is excruciating. The pain is accompanied by numbness in leg, foot, severe leg muscle cramps that come and go also. The shot really helped me. I'm trying to put off surgery as much as possible considering there is mixed outcomes to the surgery I need to fix the stenosis in multiple levels I have. I would recommend you go and see Dr. Ahmed. He may be able to get you pain free no matter how severe your situation. His staff is professional and the clinic is clean as well.

Dr. Mustaffa and his team and I can say first hand there was no long wait time, I didn’t have to pay a crazy co pay, everyone was very helpful and kind. A very loving atmosphere. We are all there because we are in pain right and we look at these reviews because we have had bad experiences in the past but we have to remember everyone has their own experiences with people and situations. I believe dr.Ahmed is trying his best to get to the root of each patient’s pain problem and also make time for each patient and I can appreciate that. Dr. Ahmed is the best Dr. ever, once you start explaining him your pain he already knows what it is and what to do. Very nice person,professional and caring. Dr. Ahmed is rated #1 in pain specialist according to me. I have seen more than my share and he was right on with my diagnosis. He takes time to listen to me and reviewed my medical and surgical history related to my back before making a diagnosis related to the severe pain in my lower back. Also explained how the damage occurred to my SI Joint. He explained the procedure for repair of my SI joint, which basically is a bone graft to the joint. Two weeks out from surgery my pain relief is at 80%, I am now able to lay on my side and walk without the severe pain. The only discomfort is at the surgical site, which is to be expected. I would recommend that anyone suffering from severe pain to give Dr. Ahmed a try. Thank you Dr. Ahmed.

Good clinic!

I have had excruciating electric stock in my face for almost 2 years now. I went to my dentist first, thought it was caused by my teeth. It wasn’t the cause of the pain. I made an appointment with my neurologist Dr. Robinson she did all she could do for me. Then she referred me to Dr. Ahmed where is was very knowledgeable and explained everything that he would be doing to help me. He diagnosed me and treated me with injections in my face. My pain for now is gone and if it comes back again. He can do the procedure again. If you need a awesome pain management specialist. Please make an appointment with him. Dr. Ahmed is awesome. He listened, he pressed on a couple spots on my lower back, showed me pics on the computer, and was spot on!!!! He was honest about not being able to do anything for the fractured pelvis, but has a game plan for the rest.

Great doctor I was in great pain and this doctor helped me .

I have dealt with debilitating back pain for 30+ years and I was referred to Dr. Mustafa Ahmed by my primary doctor. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to Chiropractor’s with little or no relief. In 5 or 6 treatments to my back I can honestly say he has improved my pain 100%. NP Cece and Lori Poole are the most phenomenal NPs I’ve met. Cece thanks for compassion, time with the patient, explanation of symptoms and your advice. Here’s where the disconnect comes, THE OFFICE STAFF, I don’t know how they deal with others but I pray no one else is dealing with the non consistency and the I DONT CARE ATTITUDE. I have waited for long periods of time to find out about a procedure that has to be approved by insurance. Ms Vanessa states she was working on the approval and would let me know, still I haven’t heard back from her. I begin to do my own research to get ball moving seeing I have been in chronic pain for the last five years and it’s getting worse. I called BCBS and PainTec to inquire about paperwork and there was no record, when I had my appointment I informed Ms Vanessa, that I had contacted both agencies and she told me they had just emailed her back this day WOW. I call, leave messages, speak with scheduling dept but still no conversation from Vanessa. Dr Ahmed I believe that in your schedule of helping your patients your verification team should be conferenced about getting things done. Please respond asking more about this current situation and how can it be resolved. Reviews matter. This is why I give the rating without Vanessa and her verification team the rating would have been an easy 10. Thanks

He is by far the greatest pain management physician I have seen since my saga started 10 years ago! He is brilliant, I mean MENSA brilliant. His bedside manner is perfect. He listens, and then tries to get to the root of the problem. He is not a pain pill Dr, he truly wants to manage the disease that is causing the pain! His office staff is pleasant and gets referrals or orders processed quickly. I like his PAs. Occasionally the wait in the waiting room may take over 30 minutes, but rarely. He spends time with his patients, and he knows his patients! He is one of a few Drs that I would personally recommend!

Dr Moustafa is a great doctor! I’d been to other pain management doctors, and he is the best. He’s committed and compassionate, and his staff is, as well. He’s helped me with my fibromyalgia and the pain in my back, which is very crooked and arthritic and used to wake me up early in the morning, and keep me awake in the night, as well. This past couple of weeks after he did a nerve block procedure, I have had about 90% relief in that part of my back. I don’t wake up in level 7-8 pain anymore, and being able to sleep helps my fibromyalgia. If you’re an older patient, as I am, with chronic pain, you nearly always have more than one source of it. It gets complicated, and Dr Ahmed deals with all of it. He really cares, and explains everything very clearly. I’m I’m lucky to have been referred to him, and highly recommend him.

I have been seeing dr Ahmed his staff is awesome he's my favorite dr I have so many issues in my back hips shoulders and neck he's a great dr and trust him doing my injections in my back he's done steroid injections and nerve burn treatments on my neck he's an awesome dr I would recommend him to anyone that has chronic pain

My husband and I have lived in multiple states; therefore, he's had to change doctors several times over the years. Dr Ahmed and his staff are the best. They all work in the field they should be working in. What I mean by that is that they care, are professional and helpful. NP Agala, who works in Dr Ahmed practice, is the nurse my husband sees for his follow ups, and we love her. She obviously cares about her patients. Also, when the office staff say they are going to do something, they actually do it. They don't hang up on you or try to pass the ball to someone else. We are so grateful to have found them.

Doctor Ahmed is very great professionnel physician. In one visit he was able to find the reason of my severe pain that kept me awake for months, and had seen many specialists about it. However the waiting time could be insane! So be aware, but totally worth it. Nurses are very friendly and welcoming especially the procedure nurse. Highly recommended.

I have multiple pain issues, and Dr. Ahmed has done wonders for me. He always explains his treatment plan and listens to my concerns and addresses them with me. He uses tried and true methods such as shots in the affected area and new technology, such as the spinal implant. He and his staff are kind, show concern, and work with my insurance consistently to get the treat mentioned I need.
