Dr. Chhabra was born in Elyria, Ohio, while her father was in his Orthopedic Surgery training. It is no small surprise that her dad was her hero and she was determined at a young age to become a surgeon. She grew up in Southern California and attended Johns Hopkins University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After earning a Master's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Chhabra completed her Orthopaedic surgery residency at UTMB. During her residency, she earned the Resident Research award, Golden Bone Excellence in Teaching and Open Growth Plate Excellence in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery awards two years in a row. She additionally has completed 10 surgical mission trips around the world, including Mexico, India, Guatemala, Ecuador and Haiti. Her time working with these diverse populations helped to further grow her dedication to service for underserved communities.
Dr. Chhabra then completed her Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship at the prestigious Baylor College of medicine, training with leaders within the field at Texas Children's Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children Houston.
